About
Welcome to Breakfast for One.
I’m Kim, the hands behind the videos you see on my YouTube channel. I’ve always been drawn to quiet things—coffee in the morning, the sound of rain while I work, and conversations that go a little deeper than the surface. It’s part of why I’ve chosen to remain anonymous here.
Over the years, I’ve lived in several cities across North America and Asia. Each place introduced me to new flavors, new ways of cooking, and new perspectives. Those experiences didn’t just shape my palate—they changed the way I see food.
Growing up in an artistic family and working in fields that required both creative thinking and systematic problem-solving, I’ve always been drawn to distilling things down to what matters. In the kitchen, that means simplifying, adapting, and creating recipes that feel both beautiful and accessible.
My approach to recipe development is a little obsessive by nature. Before I test anything, I think through the core components — what’s essential to the flavor, what’s optional, what can be eliminated without loss. Each recipe goes through rounds of reduction and refinement, guided by both intuition and research into the science behind measurements and ingredient ratios. The goal is always the same: a recipe stripped down to exactly what it needs to be, nothing more.
This space is for minimalist cooking — small, low-effort meals for one or two, built around whatever your first meal of the day happens to be, whenever that is for you. Slowing down and finding joy in the essentials, one simple bite at a time.
Because to me, even the simplest cup of coffee or a single bite of food is a quiet reminder of God’s love and generosity. And that sense of gratitude is what I hope to share with you.
