Tortilla Wrap Hack 3 Ways

A clever tortilla folding technique that works for any meal of the day. Choose from a savory bacon and avocado breakfast wrap, a pepperoni pizza lunch wrap, or a sweet Nutella and banana dessert wrap — all cooked golden and crispy in a pan.
Yield: 1 Serving (per variation)
Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

Bacon, Avocado & Cheddar Wrap
  • 1 flour tortilla 8 inch/20 cm
  • ½ small avocado
  • 2 slices bacon
  • Vine-ripened tomato
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • Salt and pepper
Pepperoni & Cheese Pizza Wrap
  • 1 flour tortilla 8 inch/20 cm
  • Pepperoni slices
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive slices
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp pizza sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil for pan-frying
Nutella, Banana & Strawberry Wrap
  • 1 flour tortilla 8 inch/20 cm
  • Banana slices
  • Strawberry slices
  • Roasted almonds slices
  • 2 tbsp Nutella
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • Unsalted butter for pan-frying

Instructions

  • Prep your ingredients. (Bacon wrap: cook bacon until crisp, drain, and cut into strips. Slice tomato. Pizza wrap: cut pepperoni into pieces and slice olives. Dessert wrap: slice banana and strawberries, and toast almond slices in a dry pan over medium-low heat.)
  • Make a cut from the edge of the tortilla to the center. Lightly fold into quarters to create guidelines, then unfold flat.
  • Layer your ingredients onto the tortilla sections according to your chosen variation. Fold the tortilla over itself clockwise to form the wrap.
  • Heat your cooking fat in a pan over medium to medium-high heat — bacon fat for the breakfast wrap, olive oil for the pizza wrap, or butter for the dessert wrap.
  • Cook the folded wrap until golden brown on both sides and the filling is warmed through. Serve immediately.

Notes

The key to a good fold is not overfilling — keep the layers thin so the tortilla holds its shape when cooking. Press down gently with a spatula as it cooks to help it seal and brown evenly.
